The University of Tampere is located close to the city center, approximately ten minutes’ walk from the railway station. The conference takes place in Linna building (address Kalevantie 5).
The easiest way to get to Tampere from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is to take a bus that goes from the airport to Tampere bus station. If you prefer to travel by train, you can also take a bus to Tikkurila railway station and then continue by train to Tampere. If you arrive from Helsinki city center, you can either take a bus or a train to Tampere. From Tampere-Pirkkala Airport there is a bus connection to the city center. The Finnish Anthropological Society has made preliminary room reservations at special rates in three hotels in the center of Tampere. All hotel reservations should be made directly through the hotels by email or phone, quoting the conference code “Anthropology conference”. Reservations should be made by April 16th.
Antropologipäivät on varannut alustavasti tutkimuspäivävieraiden käyttöön huoneita kolmesta Tampereen keskustan hotellista erikoishinnalla ajankohdalle 16.–17.5. Hotellivaraukset tulee tehdä itse suoraan hotellista. Varauksen yhteydessä tulee mainita kiintiötunnus “Antropologipäivät”. Kiintiöhinta on voimassa 16.4. saakka.

Opiskelijapiknik • Student picnic
Tampereen yliopiston antropologian opiskelijat järjestävät torstaina 16.5. klo 18 piknikin yliopiston vieressä sijaitsevassa Sorsapuistossa (sateen sattuessa sisätiloissa). Piknikin jälkeen iltaa jatketaan ravintola Telakalla. Tapaaminen yliopiston aulassa klo 18. Nyyttäriperiaate! Mukaan voi liittyä missä vaiheessa iltaa tahansa.
Anthropology students in the University of Tampere arrange a picnic on Thursday, May 16 in Sorsapuisto Park which is located next to the University (indoors if it rains). Evening continues in Restaurant Telakka. Meeting at the University lobby at 6 pm. Bring your food and bottles! You can join at any time in the evening.
