The Annual Meeting of the Finnish Anthropological Society will be held on March 24 starting at 14:00. The venue is the Cedercreutz Hall (formerly Room 505) in Tieteen talo, Helsinki. Remote participation is also possible.

Before the official annual meeting at 13:00 Laura Kihlström will give a talk titled Shifting health care landscapes and the politics of universalism: an ethnography of reform implementation in Finland.

Laura Kihlström is a Research Manager at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. She is an anthropologist by training and holds a doctorate from the University of South Florida in the United States. Her current ethnographic research focuses on the political determinants of healthcare equity, and citizen participation in Finland as part of the For whom are health systems designed? Political determinants of health and equity in the context of health system reform in Finland (POLDEQUITY) and Institutionalizing Democratic Innovations (STRONG) projects.

After the speech, the 2025 Anthropological Act Annual Award will be announced.
